Vanessa Olson
Vanessa Olson is a Digital Literacy Instructor and an Administrative Assistant with the NDEC, having started as a volunteer tutor in 2020. Vanessa has a background in tutoring school children and agricultural migrant workers. She has been an administrator for a medical nonprofit educational organization and a radio programmer and announcer.
Born and raised in California, Vanessa graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in art, and has lived in rural Maine since 2012. No matter where she’s lived, she’s been dedicated to working with local organizations to promote justice and equity for all. Her passions extend to the land, as she has worked for farmers and florists, and cultivates her garden influenced by the principles of permaculture. Vanessa also creates art and enjoys exploring the beauty of the backroads and waterfalls of Maine.
She’s excited to help promote and celebrate inclusion, equality and empowerment through the NDEC, using technology to nurture and expand access, connectivity, and creativity for all participants.
